I had to select them one at a time and change the size. One thing I don't like about this software so far (and this may change as I learn more) is that I can't seem to batch change the sizes of all 4 slides.

This allows me full control over the scan(s). I use the professional level of the Epson Scan software. Photoshop Elements 7 seemed to have no problem with this. The software (Epson Scan) gives a warning that your photo software may not support more than 1 slide at a time. The V500 has a plate that you lay in and drop the slides in place. Fortunately I used to do IT for a living so the learning curve wasn't all that great. One thing I found out real quick on arrival is that the documentation wasn't all that good. I decided to take the risk and see what happens. It was rated pretty highly but the ratings didn't say a lot about slide scanning. They were expensive in those days!Įnter the Epson Perfection V500. I have never shot slides since the publishers I worked for used drum scanners so I never had a reason to have a slide scanner. The slides on the other hand could easily be handled by me. I sent the movies off to Abound to get them converted to digital format so I could process them in Adobe Premier. Most of the photos shot were slides (25 ISO) and the movies were Super 8 (8mm). Upon my father's death I was commissioned with the job of converting some of the photos he took when he used to work for General Anline & Film Corporation (GAF) in the late 60's and early 70's.
